WHEN DID I "ACCEPT" JESUS CHRIST?
I've worshiped Him as God and Creator for as long as I can remember. I met Him as my Savior and as the Word made Flesh in 1985—love at first sight!—and my obsession with the Bible began. But I languished in darkness until I surrendered to Jesus as Lord of my life at age 26 in 1988. I've been on fire for Him ever since.
OCCUPATION?
My King's ambassador as wife to John, as homeschooling mom of five, as lay minister. I speak and write on all things Bible.
LIFE VERSES?
Jeremiah 29:13
Galatians 2:20
"Impossible Dream"
I heard a call to ministry in 2002, through Ephesians 4:11-12:
"Christ gifted some to be apostles, others to be prophets, others to be evangelists, and still others to be pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ."
My ministry is first to my husband John and our five children, then to our immediate family and family in Christ, then to any neighbor I meet.
I aspire to build up the Body of believers in Jesus Christ, and to draw all people closer to the Lord—
whether by touching those running from God and slowing their pace;
by gently drawing the gaze of those fixed on the cares and troubles of this world toward the One Who holds the world in His hands;
or by spurring on those already chasing God to 'run harder!'
Activities include worship ministries (primarily drama), speaking & teaching, prayer & counseling support, jail ministry, and writing (my publishing agent is Barbara Scott of WordServe Literary).
If that's not plenty, you can skip over to my Blogger Profile for trivia such as favorite books and music. And if you'd like a peek at my prayer times, I occasionally share the stuff I discuss with God one-on-one at my other blog, Abba Whispers.
Gracious Father, please grant to me
humility without defeat,
joy without pride,
peace without complacency,
zeal without presumption,
passion without impatience.
