Refiner's Fire

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love.
~ 1 Peter 1:6-8 (NKJV)

These brief hours on the earth aren't about me, and not even about now.

It's all about Him, the glory we can give Him now, and the glory shared with Him for our eternity together.

He's irresistibly drawn to the holiness in us which is like His own, and He makes us increasingly like Himself. The more we are like Him, the more we know Him, the more we love Him.

Here am I, Lord.
Have Your way with me.

Purify my heart
Let me be as gold and precious silver
Purify my heart
Let me be as gold, pure gold

Refiner's fire
My heart's one desire
Is to be holy
Set apart for You, Lord
I choose to be holy
Set apart for You, my Master
Ready to do Your will

Purify my heart
Cleanse me from within
And make me holy
Purify my heart
Cleanse me from my sin
Deep within

  1. Denise ~ I love you.

Snady ~ Mine too. The Holy Spirit must make us a little Jesus-crazy to actually ask for the fire. Whatever it takes to make us like Him, yes?

  2. I like that song very much. We frequently sing it at our prayer group meetings. Have a blessed day!

  3. haven't heard that song for quite a while and there was time that i always carried it with me.(Vineyard) there was also a time that i prayed it often. now i'm thinking about your comment the other day of how not one single prayer falls to the ground...

  4. Elizabeth ~ It's a great song, especially when sung as an earnest prayer.

Bud ~ I'm a big fan of Vineyard, though they've been hard for me to find. One of these days I'll get online and track down what I'm missing. And about those prayers not falling to the ground ... that includes the ones that come out not so pretty. The Holy Spirit is a reliable Counselor (think in terms of legal counsel) to bring our groanings of various emotions before the Father in a presentable version. : )

found that to be encouraging. thank you.
