The Whole Armor of God

And the evil spirit answered and said, "Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?" Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
~ Acts 19:15-16 (NKJV)

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
~ Ephesians 6:11 (NKJV)

His disciples asked [Jesus] privately, "Why could we not cast [the spirit] out?" So He said to them, "This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting."
~ Mark 9:28-29 (NKJV)

Spiritual warfare involves far more than invoking the name of Jesus.

To put on the whole armor of God, one speaks truth, lives righteously, takes time to prepare with the Gospel, relies on faith to counter lies, covers one's mind with the submission to the Lord Jesus which is our salvation, skillfully wields the sword of the Word, and remains watchful in prayer.

Remaining watchful in prayer may involve fasting. Among other things, fasting subdues flesh and enables victory over the strongholds in one's life, compels the needs of body to be sacrificed for the needs of spirit, and humbles oneself before God.

The bride of Christ is a warrior princess with a mettle of iron, who trains for no retreat in battle. She is clothed in the whole armor of God provided to her.

Father God, You provide to us all we need for every situation. Please draw us to closely walk with You, and hear Your Spirit's voice, so we may quickly identify the enemy, engage him effectively, and emerge victorious in every battle. Plese increase our dependence on You daily.
