All His Good

"If you don’t get everything you want,
think of the things you don’t get that you don’t want."
~ Oscar Wilde

All His Good

"Blessed be the LORD,
who has given rest to His people ...
There has not failed one word of all His good promise."
~ 1 Kings 8:56 (NKJV)

A key to happiness is the perception of circumstances one chooses. If one insists upon seeing what is missing from life, then let one see all that one has not suffered—and then give God thanks for all His good.

Logically, if one fills a cup, one does not fill it 'half-empty.' And one half-empties a cup by enjoying it.

Lord, thank You for all You have given, and all You have withheld.

  1. First thought when I saw that glass was, that's enough for me. If only I were so easily contented in life! I'm so glad to be reminded to thank Him for the mercy of what I don't have, as well.

  2. Praise You Lord for the blessings you have poured into, and out of my life.

  3. John 15:11
“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.

I just heard someone at church say, God doesn't know how to fill a cup half full - my cup runneth over.

Thanks Anne for continuously filling yourself and spilling over the love of the Lord.

  4. T. Anne, today's been a long day of me practicing what I preach. I end the day grateful.

Denise, how poetically and rightfully you've spoken.

Doug, I'm always grateful for the Scripture you add here. And I'd recently heard that remark about the Lord filling to overflowing. How did I so quickly forget? Thanks for reminding me. Thanks too for sharing His love, for it to be spilling out.
