So the Egyptians made the children of Israel serve by cruelty. And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage—in mire ...
~ Exodus 1:13-14
This cruel world finds ever new definitions of cruel service, bondage, mire.
And the LORD said: "I have seen the misery of My people ... I have heard their cry because of their oppressors. I know their anguish."
~ Exodus 3:7
After 430 years in Egypt, His people might think God had forgotten them.
Yet they cried out to Him.
When the time came for Him to mightily display Himself, He acted.
[We] were in bondage ... But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son ...
~ Galatians 4:3-4 (NKJV)
Having received deliverance from sin's death penalty, should we doubt our God is able and willing to deliver us from sin's lesser bondages?
Who have we in Heaven or Earth but You, Lord? We look to You for new deliverance. Please give us peace in the waiting.

Aye. Who else do we have?
ReplyDeleteIt's all Him, Anne.
so i'm still chewing on yesterday's post and chewing this one too. Anne, you remember way back when....that i said: "i was working from the point of defeat to victory." (?) when i said that statement, it was coming from "bondage." although it's no longer the case....until i can get that reality of "eternity set into my heart" by His Spirit of revelation, it's a bit difficult....especially to have patience in waiting. i don't know if this is going to make much sense or not but it's like in my mind(by His Word), i have full possession yet in my spirit/soul there's a separation between them. without the Spirit of revelation knowledge, one is still in bondage. but...there's Hope!

He always here and responds right on time. That's hard to accept many times, but it leads to some incredible things as we surrender. Great thoughts, Anne. Thank you.

ReplyDeleteHow do we ever think we need more than Him? More and more, it's a matter of more Light on perspective, more releasing of what we geninuinely thought we couldn't live without.

ReplyDeleteAmong the greatest truths we need to wrap our mind and heart around is this: being born again means eternal life has already begun, the former life is dead and needs to be buried. It's a long burial process, but it is already dead.
