"But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase."
~ Daniel 12:4 (NKJV)

For in much wisdom is much grief,
And he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.
~ Ecclesiastes 1:18 (NKJV)

One of the many indicators that we are in the last days is the fulfillment of the angel Gabriel's words to Daniel concerning the time of the end. Many run to and fro across the globe, we are inundated and overwhelmed with the increase of knowledge.

Even three thousand years ago, Solomon recognized the grief and sorrow in much wisdom and knowledge of this world.

It is the weekend. It is the season of celebrating Jesus. It's not Sunday yet. But if you take a few moments to take in the wholesome and living Word of God, laying aside what's been concocted by humans, you will be blessed.

For the word of God is living and powerful ...
~ Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV)

  1. I'll spend more time cleaning. Oh wait that mess was definitely concocted by humans ;)

  2. Heehee, T. Anne.

There is a time--soon, I think-- when God's Word in written form may be all we have to meditate on--and then perhaps, not even that. We will then have to have Scripture memorized, "hidden in our heart". That causes me grief. I am SO BAD at recalling "addresses"...can rattle off Scripture but don't know where to find it! One of my committments for the new year is to find "Memorizing Scripture: a Program for Dunderheads" and buy it. ;)

    Have a blessed day, Anne!

  3. Mmm, I hadn't considered that verse in Daniel in relation to air travel and the internet.

I like it, Anne. I like it a lot!

  4. We need to slow down, and concentrate on the most precious gift ever given to this world.

  5. We live in exciting times, that's for sure!

  6. T. Anne, I like your reasoning! (And I like you. ;D)

Gwen, I don't stress over such thoughts and hope you won't either. Should we see the day when we must rely on the Holy Spirit to call to mind all the Bible we have left to hold, I've no doubt that He'll do so, and that addresses won't be critical. I'll confess that as much as I know Scripture, I rely on concordances to find things most of the time. I can usually tell you what book, maybe even the chapter a passage comes from, but I'm terrible at addresses.

Peter, God has graciously given me a gift for seeing verses in interesting ways. There aren't enough hours in the day for me to share them all. Glad you liked this one.

Denise, slowing down doesn't come easily to me until I get into the Word or sit down with the saints. Thank God tomorrow's Sunday!

Deborah Ann, only because of my confidence in Christ can I agree that otherwise terrifying times are exciting. And they are exciting.
