Fragrance of Light

So [Moses] was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And ... when Moses came down from Mount Sinai ... Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone while he talked with Him. So when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him.... And when Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil on his face. (Exodus 34:28-30,33 NKJV)

"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:14-16 NKJV)

For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. (2 Corinthians 2:15-16 NKJV)

What's the first thing you notice about a person? I look for Light in a person's face. Whether or not someone knows Jesus isn't always discerned at first sight. But Light (or Darkness) is unmistakable in some people.

I want to be like that. I want to eat and drink of the Lord enough to shine with Light. Some of the times partaking of with Him are on the mountain, alone. He is also present in every waking and sleeping moment if I will only be sensitive enough to YHWH-Shammah—the Lord is There.

Not everyone appreciates the fragrance of Light, for to some it is the stench of death, and their negative reaction may not be subtle. But for others, Light carries the aroma of life.

May Light not be veiled for the sake of those it offends or frightens.

Light of the world, in You alone is life. Your light and life and love draw us like a pleasing fragrance. Please help us make time to adequately partake of You. Please help us know Your enduring presence. Please put Your light in us, that others glorify You.
