"And I bowed my head and worshiped the LORD, and blessed the LORD God of my master Abraham, who had led me in the way of truth to take the daughter of my master’s brother for his son." (Genesis 24:48 NKJV)
"However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come."
(John 16:13 NKJV)
How often do we intensely desire to know what the future holds? If we knew what lies ahead, might we better choose what to do today? We are only servants. We need only go as the Master directs, and trust Him to go before us.
The voice of His Holy Spirit is not that of a general—sharp and booming. But His voice is clear and direct if we will be still and intimately know Him who is God. The sacrifice of time and what the time might have otherwise bought will be richly repaid.
Our Father, You are good, and Your faithful love surrounds us. Please move us to listen to Your Holy Spirit, that we might be filled, better know You, receive guidance, and be empowered to act.
