How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light. (Psalms 36:7-9 ESV)
"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30 ESV)
What do you need today? Food and water? Work? Rest? Protection? The light of His guidance in a situation?
It is all available from the One who created you. He grants much of it even to those who are not His children, who hate and slander Him. He loves you and longs to give it to you.
He provides what He knows we need when we don’t know we need it, whether or not we ask Him to do so. How much more might he provide if we come to Him and ask?
O God, Your love and kindness and mercy are indeed precious. Life with You is one of all manner of abundance. Show us what we need today, enable us to receive it, and inspire us to ask for it. Let us not fail to thank You for it.
