A Complete Work

Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try my mind and my heart. … Lord, I have loved the habitation of Your house, and the place where Your glory dwells. (Psalm 26:2,8 NKJV)

He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:6 NKJV)

A marriage is not accomplished on the wedding day—the real work then starts. The relationship with Jesus Christ is not completed in the day one comes to Him, but only beginning.

The Old Testament temple no longer exists. The believer’s body is now the earthly habitation of God’s glory. We cannot make ourselves a fit place for the Holy Spirit to live. He first moves in, and then begins His work of sanctification, cleaning and restoring every place yielded to Him.

Sanctification’s work nears completion on the day when however we are offended, we bleed only love.

Lord Jesus, thank You for the blood that makes our soul righteous in our Father’s sight. Thank You for choosing to live now within a work in progress. Please help us cooperate with Your design for us.
