Inheritance

. . . you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father." . . . we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. (Romans 8:15-18 NKJV)

The Almighty God, Judge and Creator of the earth, gives to those He has purchased the right to call Him not just "Father" (Hebrew Ab), but also Abba—"Papa." He wants a close relationship with me that I might know His fullest blessing, and that He might carry me through my deepest sorrow. I indeed share with Jesus an inheritance of both glory and suffering. Jesus will always have the greatest glory, for all glory I receive is to exalt Him. Whatever my inheritance of suffering, the suffering of Jesus is also greatest—the burden of my sin He bore to exalt me.
