Queen of Christ

To the Chief Musician ... A Song of Love ...
I recite my composition concerning the King ...

At Your right hand stands the queen in gold from Ophir.
Listen, O daughter,
Consider and incline your ear;
Forget your own people also, and your father's house;
So the King will greatly desire your beauty;
Because He is your Lord, worship Him. ...
The royal daughter is all glorious within the palace;
Her clothing is woven with gold.
(Psalms 45:1,9-11,13 NKJV)

[Christ] loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. (Ephesians 5:25-27 NKJV)

The church is the bride of Jesus Christ. There is a day when believers will finally be united as one, and stand at the right hand of Jesus the King as His beautiful queen, united to His glory.

Little girls merely dream of royal weddings. The King’s bride spares nothing to prepare for her Bridegroom. How do we make ready? By not just reading His Word in the Bible, but by allowing it to thoroughly infuse us. By uniting our hearts to all the others who are His. By yielding to His Holy Spirit’s work to purge from us everything which hinders us from being pure for Him.

By having eyes for only our King.

Lord Jesus, we are utterly unworthy to be chosen for the honor You give us. Without the make-over You provide we would be a thoroughly unfit bride, much less a queen. Please enable us give ourselves to You as You have given Yourself for us.
