"Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your kingdom." (Matthew 20:21 NKJV)
And behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, "Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!" (Matthew 20:30 NKJV)
An earthly king is approached with reverence and awe. His loyal subjects readily do whatever he asks. His ambassadors, and those privileged to dwell with him as companions, faithfully represent who he is.
Like King David, the divine Son of David was recognized as King well before the time of receiving His throne. Even the thief on the cross acknowledged Jesus’ kingdom as the two men were dying! Jesus is called our Savior and Lord. Is He acknowledged as King?
Prince of Peace, how glorious Your next entry to Jerusalem shall be! Please enable us to see You and humbly serve You as King even now. Come Lord Jesus!
