Not a Lone Warrior

How long, O LORD? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart daily? How long will my enemy be exalted over me? (Psalm 13:1-2 NKJV)

I daily battle three enemies. For me, the devil (master of disguise as an angel of light) is most difficult to recognize, the world (always before me) is most distracting from God, and Self (mind, emotion, flesh demanding indulgence) is most difficult to resist. I long for the end of this war—this test—but not before I’ve completed it successfully. If I falter or grow weary or see only one set of footprints in the sand, I need to look to the One carrying me.

Lord Jesus, You once felt the weight of human flesh. You walked where the eternal is unseen with human eyes. You were attacked where vulnerable. Thank You for Your Spirit going through it all with me.
