The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. . . Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. (Psalm 23:1,6 NKJV)
It’s been said that wealth consists not in the abundance of our possessions but in the fewness of our wants. Paul said, "godliness with contentment is great gain . . . having food and clothing, with these we shall be content." Not only has the Lord always provided food and clothing for me, but He has given me the gift of eternal life, and the abiding presence of Himself living within me. Nearly $4/gallon at the pump hurts, but the Lord’s goodness and mercy are undiminished.
My Father and Shepherd, thank You for Your unfailing provision. I look to You for every need of my body, heart, mind, and soul. Make me fully trust You for everything the future holds.
