The Problem with Grace

Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be innocent of great transgression. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer. (Psalm 19:13-14 NKJV)

There is no rationale for a sinful wretch like me to receive mercy except the amazing grace of God. Now given the privilege of close relationship with Almighty God Himself, it’s an easy pitfall to presume upon Him. When my Father lavishes gifts on me, His child, I can readily take those gifts for granted. It’s not difficult to rely on knowledge that if I falter in my walk with Him, He will not condemn me. May His grace be cause for my gratitude, never presumption!

My precious Father, Your love for me is beyond anything I could ever desire. Please let it move me to love You with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength. You are too wonderful to take for granted.
