Depth of Riches

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor? Or who has first given to Him And it shall be repaid to him? For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen. (Romans 11:33-36 NKJV)

Even after knowing my husband for nineteen years, I still discover new things about him, and am always delighted when I do. The longer we are together – the more of who he is, that was there all along but I never knew – the more I love him. This is so much more true for the divine Lover of my soul, my Lord and Beloved, in Whom are infinite treasures waiting to be discovered. His mercies are new each morning, and simply knowing Him tops the list. I don’t find them as His counselor, but as His faithful friend and lover.
