"His lips are lilies, Dripping liquid myrrh. . . His mouth is most sweet, Yes, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, And this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem!"
"Where has your beloved gone, O fairest among women? Where has your beloved turned aside, That we may seek him with you?" (Song of Solomon 5:13; 5:16-6:1 NKJV)
If the Bible is a love letter from my Beloved (and each word a kiss from Him) — if the surest taste of His lips is found in this treasure — how could I find anything but exquisite pleasure in His Word? How could I have greater desire for anything in this world? In the graphic language of Song of Solomon is found a description from the very Word of God of this life’s greatest pleasure. Is that pleasure the romantic love of a man and woman? Or is it intimacy with Him Who is the Lover of my human soul? Is my delight in His love so evident — not only in my words but also in my life — that others are drawn to seek Him?
Lord, please work in me to make my love for you highly contagious.
