For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. (Romans 8:6-7 NKJV)
Spiritual life in a physical body of flesh can be tortuous; I know spiritual life but still wait for the redemption of a carnal body (v. 23). My soul longs for freedom from the weight of flesh and the sin that clings to the flesh. Yet the miracle of eternal life dwelling in my physical body brings Him greater glory. Fullness of life and peace will be mine for eternity, while I have such a short time to give glory to my Savior and Lord on Earth. Each minute to minute decision to choose the spiritual pleasures and reject physical indulgences (anger, lust, selfishness – whatever) shows Him superior to all other pleasure - and therefore gives Him glory.
