But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend [cover] them; Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You. For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield. (Psalm 5:11-12 NKJV)
The Lord’s covering is cause to shout for joy. Even emotional, demonstrative people like me are pretty subdued when it comes right down to it. The Lord’s mercies are new each morning. The number of His names in which to be joyful cannot be fully tallied. The blessings shown the righteous are abundant — and the righteousness is from Him in the first place. I suppose that if I did shout about all this, my heart would spend more time dwelling upon such favor.
Lord, the touch of Your covering is more precious than any blessing I could hope for. Make me ever more aware of Your presence. Make my heart ever joyful to be compassed by You.
