Visible God

The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God; God is in none of his thoughts. . . He has said in his heart, "God has forgotten; He hides His face; He will never see." . . . But You have seen, for You observe trouble and grief, To repay it by Your hand. The helpless commits himself to You. (Psalm 10:4,11,14 NKJV)

Invisible people are all around us. We can walk through the midst of a crowd and never see a single face. No one is invisible to God, and I need to be more aware of the people He loves. How often is the Lord invisible? Faith is the evidence — the confidence — of the unseen. If I should more readily notice people, how much more so should I walk through life with awareness of God’s presence? Failing to think about God and feel His eyes upon me is a characteristic of the wicked.

My Lord, Your abiding presence is my peace, my joy, my strength, my confidence. May I never lose sight of being lovingly held in Your sight. I am utterly helpless and utterly hopeless without You.
