May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, And fulfill all your purpose. We will rejoice in your salvation, And in the name of our God we will set up our banners! May the LORD fulfill all your petitions. (Psalm 20:4-5 NKJV)
The American flag — the banner we fly as the emblem of our identity and victories — is hallowed. How much more should we hallow the God named Yahweh Nissi, "Yahweh is my banner." Whatever identity I have as a patriotic American should pale next to my identity in Christ, Who grants me all victories. The fulfillment of my purpose and my petitions — the granting to me according to my heart’s desire — will be His blessing to me because my will and identity so closely match His.
Lord, let all my delight be in You, that You will grant me the desires of my heart. Show me how to pray so that all Your answers are "Yes!"
